Tray 3 - Day 50

Sorry i haven't updated my blog in a while !!! I just got my attchments like 15 mins ago. The aligners feel really tight this time and i'm not used to it yet. Also it looks as though i've been in a punch up as my mouth is very red and puffy, even around my mouth is swollen, i'm starting to think i might have an allergy to the plastic ? Anyway ortho says things are looking good, although i can't really see any difference. I have 7 buttons on my teeth, and only one is visible which is on my eye tooth. I'll try and keep posted but i tend to forget a bit !!! i am finding it really hard to take them off now but, practice makes perfect. Anyways, i gotta go, cya xx

Day 24

I put in my 2nd trays tomorrow, i'm a bit excited!!! But i've read that i should put them in be4 bed, in case of discomfort. So i'll have to hang out 'till then. They are going well and most people don't notice they're in. so far only 1 person has asked me, but 1 person in 24 days is pretty good!!! I've got alot of trays left, all up i have 24 upper 18 lower, i think (?), so that leaves 23 upper 17 lower. I have a question for anyone who can answer... After the 18 on the bottom, i still have some left for the top, do i wear a retainer on the bottom throughout this? i'm a little confused lol!!!

Day 17

Hi everyone,

I found out a little while ago that i'm probably the youngest invisalign patient in Canberra (forgot to put that in my first post).
MY lips healed but have started to swell up again. This is because of a new habit. As the aligners are getting loose i have been pressing them on my bottom lip and sliding my teeth half out and then back it again, So at the moment my lips are sore and im still doing it! I've been TRYING to stop and am putting lip balm on again. Right now though i have cold water on it cos it seems to calm down the redness and soreness. Other than that i cant complain, all is well, i put in my next trays next Saturday. I'll have these in for 3 and a half weeks and then i get my attachments. I'm a bit scared about this as in most blogs they seem 2 cause a fair bit of pain. Oh there is one thing I might warn future invisalian patients about.... they do get a slight odour which is easily taken away by brushing them with toothpaste. Dad laughs at me sometimes because if im out and cant brush them i nearly heave when i bought them back in, lol. Oh well its not major and really i just think "this is better than metal". lol they are really good and i would recommend them to anyone. In fact my aunty has told a collegue about them and she is now thinking of going invisalign. Thats all for now, i'll try and put posts up more often!!!

Day 4

I've had my Invisaligns for 4 days now, My lips are very dry and quite swollen, i've had a few comments about wearing lipstick because my lips are so red! My advice for any people new to invisalign is to drink lots of water and use a good lip moisturiser, a very good one is "Lucas' Papaw Ointment" It works a treat as my lips are not so dry and swollen anymore. Panadols also help as the once tingly feel in my lips has finally disappeared. My mouth is a bit dry but the water helps that!!!

I'll add some photos soon

Day 1 Experience

The first day of invisalign was surprisingly the easiest so far. I went into the ortho expecting the worst, probably from reading other peoples invisalign experiences, but it wasn't that bad. I got the little file thing in between my teeth making it easier for my teeth to move, i thought this would hurt but it infact only made a noise, you can't really feel it at all. Then he put the invisalign trays in my mouth, A lady gave me everything i needed and taught me the basics. Straight away i had no lisp whatsoever and can't imagine why you could possibly have one, lol. I have got a habit of trying to flick the backs with my teeth, but it started to hurt my tounge if i do that, so i've pretty much stopped. After the appointment i went to see my gran, she didn't even notice, infact people have not noticed anything except a slight shinyness to my teeth. The first day was pretty good, i didnt have any pain, and not really any tightness at all. The one thing i was slightly worried about was that they seemed to fit perfectly already, although the bottoms snap so they must be a bit different!
